It has spread first from China and now to many other countries since December and January, including the USA and Canada. It has now hit a transitional point being labeled a “pandemic” which has initiated a ripple effect permeating into all aspects of our daily lives including travel, trade, tourism, food supplies, and financial markets. The economy is being severely dented from the impact of this virus. As a part of this awareness, workplaces have now been very diligent to implement the necessary steps to take and maintain safety measures and precautionary steps to uphold a safe environment and atmosphere for the workplace and its employees -assuming they are still running unless otherwise stated during this sensitive time. For employers well aware of the situation, it now involves constructing a blueprint and strategic planning to address the specific exposure risks, sources of exposure, routes of transmission and other unique characteristics associated with Covid-19. I have decided to contribute here a very much needed post about that of which Classic Flights is doing to administer careful action in response to the pandemic whilst it is still running. Safety, again, remains priority, as well as the assurance to those who walk through the doors that those who keep the gears running at Classic Flights are focusing on the engineering, administrative, and work practice controls of personal protective equipment and sanitary prescriptions specific to the layout of its business structure including sanitation of surfaces, washing hands, keeping safe social distances as much as possible, steering away from handshakes and close bodily embraces, etc. Classic Flights promises that they are adhering to safe and effective control measures and purposeful planning to mitigate breeding ground for outbreak conditions to the utmost of care. If disinfecting practices are followed consistently, it will substantially help to flatten the curve of this tragic situation. In addition to the meticulous control measures, Classic Flights is being sure to stay as up-to-date on the latest news and reports in relation to this outbreak so that they can adapt as quickly as possible with the quickest response necessary to that of their employees, workplace and customers. I thought it might be necessary also to address that we are aware of the implications of Covid-19 and that those who are reading this also be informed and educated of the various symptoms ranging from mild to severe to this infection. These typically include fever, cough, and shortness of breath; as has also been reported that it feels very much similar to the flu but very different also in the sense that it lingers far longer than that of a regular influenza virus. Others have also reported experiencing other non-respiratory symptoms, while others have said they have encountered asymptomatic cases where patients have had no symptoms manifest at all while still testing positive with the virus. According to the CDC, symptoms of Covid-19 may appear as soon as 2 days after exposure or as long as 14 days after. You can see why this virus is very much an anomaly of sorts and why it has been so difficult to contain and track as well as rein in and diffuse. HOW COVID-19 SPREADS It has been reported and conflicting information given that this has come of contact with an infected animal, and the other side of the theorized spectrum that it was a manmade virus constructed in a lab in the epicenter: Wuhan, China. The virus is thought to spread mainly from person to person, but new updates have now come to a narrowed down revelation that it is not contracted primarily through the air as previously assumed. Rather, it is being rapidly spread with contact of infected surfaces potent with the virus. Interchanges of contact that make one susceptible to coming into contact to catch the virus is between people in close contact to one another (roughly about 6 feet apart); through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes -which land on surfaces in close proximity and then is transferred to nearby people who may unfortunately make skin contact with the extracted bodily pathogens and happens to then touch their face in any way before making sure to disinfect by either washing their hands, using sanitizer or a disinfectant wipe. The scariest thing to consider in regard to this is that a majority (certainly not all those getting infected) have primarily been under the category of those who are old in age, have an existing compromised immune system, and any other pre-existing medical conditions that can seriously complicate the reality of infection. WORKPLACE STEPS BEING TAKEN TO REDUCE RISK OF EXPOSURE Necessary steps are being taken by Classic Flights to reduce possible risks of exposure to Covid-19. We are staying on top of guidance from federal, state, local, and territorial health agencies to consider how to incorporate the recommendations and resources being supplied and informed through these outlets. We are following basic prevention measures and emphasizing the need for consistency in the practices of good hygiene and infection control from all angles. We are promoting frequent hand washing, providing workers with available hand-based alcohol rubs; communicating to our workers to stay home if they are sick; as well as enforcing respiratory etiquette (covering coughs and sneezes). In addition to this, we offer customers access to handwashing resources and tissues and trashes to dispose in. As this situation continues to unfold, Classic Flights will be staying updated with all fresh information and instructions being deployed from the resources listed earlier in this post and maintaining a regular routine of housecleaning practices to do our best to leave no room for this infection to house itself in. We will also be vigilant to watch for those who come in and out of our facility while prompting isolation of potentially infectious individuals if needed among other precautionary steps of action required to protect the safety and health, and overall wellbeing of everyone coming into contact and having an association with our company.
